Pouring rain, on the freeway, I see a van to the left of me with a palm tree branch stuck under its rear wheels. Saw a FB update from an old friend of my mom’s; she was reminiscing about my mom’s record collection. My mom used to have “all the albums with dust jackets” and the friend used to be jealous of her extensive collection. She wrote that it broke her heart to learn that my mom had thrown out all her old albums, instead of selling them or giving them away.
